Khalida Abbas has been a beneficiary of our Support A Child Program since 2005. Hailing from the Hunza Valley, her educational journey received unwavering support from Hashoo Trust, spanning from her early years in grade 1 through to 10th-grade. This crucial assistance not only enriched her perspective through a quality education but also opened doors to unique extracurricular opportunities – an extraordinary privilege in the remote and underserved mountain regions of Pakistan, particularly for young girls.
Khalida’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. Beyond her academic accomplishments, she has emerged as a prominent figure in the realm of sports. A skilled footballer, she embodies qualities of endurance, vitality, and sportsmanship, attributes seldom witnessed among young girls in mountainous regions where a supportive environment is often scarce.
Presently, Khalida leads the Pakistan Army Women’s Football team. Furthermore, she actively participates in multiple other clubs, while also imparting her expertise as a coach, thereby securing a substantial income. Hashoo Trust has instilled in her the pillars of confidence, a fervor for diligence, and an unwavering commitment to persistent effort, propelling her to attain milestones that transcend the aspirations of young girls hailing from remote and underdeveloped mountain regions.
In an exclusive interview with Hashoo Trust, Khalida humbly attributes her remarkable journey to the timely and invaluable support provided by the Educate a Child program, acknowledging the pivotal role it has played in shaping her path to success.
